Layout elements with dynamic size content?

edited November 2003 in General
Say I have three or more rows with a label, an edit and a memo.

The first memo can be made to stretch, and the second memo can be both made
to shift relative to the first row's memo, and to stretch itself. But as far
as I can see, the edit and the label of the second row can't be made to
shift relative to the first memo.

Is this correct?

If so, what do I need to do? Must I put the whole row in a region (which
would then be inside another region) and have the regions shifting relative
to each other? If so, can I get rid of the border lines around this region?

Say I had a part of the form where there the left half expanded and the
right half expanded, and below that an area taking up the full width had to
expand if either of the above areas stretched. Would I have to put both of
the left and right areas in regions in one region taking up the full width
and shift the lower one relative to that?

It seems like a lot of nesting of regions will be necessary, even for a
relatively simple form, if this approach is necessary . . .

Thanks!

    Hi Lauchlan,

Unfortunately ReportBuilder does not support nested regions. I would
recommend placing Fixed Style subreports inside your original region
(without linking them to a dataset) and using them as nested regions. You
can then set each subreport to ShiftRelativeTo each other.
