Crosstab Features - New Version

edited December 2003 in General
I find the crosstab control features very limited and have a few suggestions
for the next version of RB. I know you can spend hours getting the
following things to work, but it would be nice to have a few more button
options in the configure area.

1) Row & Column Formatting: the option to add or remove columns or rows
2) Row & Column Formatting: the option to easily adjust row & column sizes
(width & height) without adjusting the font.
3) Row & Column Titles: the option to easily modify the actual text
displayed in the total and data titles.

Thanks,

G

Please could I add my support for Gary's suggestion. I'm struggling with a
problem which would be solved in an instant by these enhancements.

    Hi Susie,

Thanks for your feedback. Though it is true, the Crosstab component is
somewhat limited on how it can be easily customized, there are a few
features you may want to check out. Most of them are located in the
TppMatrix class. (CrossTab.Matrix). See the ReportBuilder help on
TppMatrix for more information. If you decided you would like to try to use
some of these methods (such as DeleteColumns), let me know... there is a
patch available for RB 7.03 that fixes a few problems with this class.

    Hi Nico,

What I really need to do is to be able to slightly reduce the row height
without changing the font. I have 24 rows (one for each hour of the day)
and the last one just trickles over onto a new page - there does seem to be
quite a lot of space between rows, more than is usual on a standard detail
report. Is there a way of doing this? Nothing in the help file is jumping
    out at me.

    Thanks
    Susie

    Hi Susie,

The ability to change the dimentions of the crosstab rows and columns is
currently on our to-do list. Thanks for the suggestion.
