Editing a report on Windows XP

edited March 2004 in General
I am using an older version of the report writer, version 5.52 for a
certain application and cannot update to the newest version without
breaking all of the dataviews for the reports. On windows XP, when I
put a manifest file in the application directory to enable windows xp
fonts, when I call up a report to edit it, and go to the calc tab, I get
the following error:

Access violation at address 77E7A922 in module "kernel32.dll". Write of
address 5AD8A245, following by (after hittin escape several times),
failed to retrieve tab at index 0. If I remove the manifest file, the
error does not occur. Is there anyway to fix this without updating the
report writer. I am running this on a windows xp machine and am
assuming that the error will not occur on a non-windows xp machine since
removing the manifest file fixes the problem. Thanks.

    Hi Jeff,

ReportBuilder 7 is the only version that has been fully tested to work with
Windows XP. If you must use RB 5.52, you may be required to remove the XP
    Manifest component.
