Region Shifting

edited March 2004 in General
I have a few regions. Each region is the width of the report and a
certain height. Each region is set to draw clear. Each Region has two
rectangle shapes in it. One rectangle shape is clear and does not
stretch with the region (providing a minimum height.) One rectangle is
solid lined and does stretch with the region. When my regions are lined
up right on top of each other they draw as i want them to. The bottom
of the top shape is butted up againts the top of the next shape. When I
preview this at run time they overlap. When I print it it makes the
line appear twice as thick. Any ideas why this would happen?

I made stripped down version that has only regions and shapes (and no
clear shapes) that creates the issue. its at

Please see if you can reproduce and let me know how I can fix it.

    Hi Chris,

Be sure you have the ShiftRelativeTo property set for each region below the
first one. This will cause the regions to shift down the page as the region
    above it stretches.

They are all set correctly, see the example.

    Thanks.

And actually in my example there is no shifting taking place. Since all
the regions are empty. They just are not drawing right for whatever reason.

Was the sample project received ok or should I have it somewhere else?

    Hi Chris,

Sorry about the delay in this response. I was able to download your example
and run it. I am however unable to see where any of the regions overlap
eachother. They all seem to line up correctly except for the bottom-most
region is which the height needed to be adjusted so I would not see a double
line at the top. As far as seeing a double line, you need to be sure the
bottom of the upper region lines up with the top of the lower region. This
may look to line up on screen, but show something different on paper.

Can you tell me what region was misaligned? On my screen they show
    perfectly flush.

    Thanks.

    Hi Chris,

It was the two bottom regions. Which printer are you using. ReportBuilder
used the current printer driver to render to the screen as well as on paper.
perhapse I can download the printer driver you are using and get the same
    results on my machine.
