Tearoff/Pause causing labels feed..

edited June 2004 in General
Hi

I have this report which print labels on a dot matrix printer.
Every thing works fine. But after printing a (or many) label ,
to tear the last printed label the user presses the Teraroff/Pause button.
Actually this is suppose to to scroll just one label,
but it is scrolling about 8 lables atmost the size of letter size paper.
I checked the printer setting and made sure that the paper size is
either custom or to the size of my labels. But still it doesn't works.
The next time I press this same butto (Tearoff/Pause) it does the right
thing,
that is scrolling just one label. I causes the problem only after u print a
label.

Here is what I did.

Print one/many labels.
Press the Tearoff/Pause button to scroll up a label.
But it actually scrolls up about 8/9 lables alomost the size of a letter
page height size.
Now press the Tearoff/Pause button again.
It will scroll properly just one labels.
Now print another one/many labels.
The porblem continues.
Now try printing one/many labels.
Off the printer.
On the printer.
Press the Tearoff/Pause button .
It will scroll properly just one labels.
Print one/many labels.
Press the Tearoff/Pause button to scroll up a label.
The porblem continues.

So I am sure what's going on here.

I would really appretiate if some one can help me fix this problem.

Thank You
Kumar

    Hi Kumar,

ReportBuilder does not communicate directly with your printer driver. If
the lables are printing in the right size, this means ReportBuilder is
defining the correct custom page size that you are setting. After this,
either the printer or the printer driver is resetting the page size back to
letter. There is however no logic in ReportBuilder to do this.
