Live report

edited July 2004 in General
Hi,

is it possible to create a kind of "live" report, i.e. display it once and
make it track all the changes to underlying data while they occur. Say, I
have two panes on the form: the left one contains data grid, the right
one -- TppViewer for previewing reports. As I start the application the
report is displayed in the right pane. Now I want to make some changes to
data via grid. Is it possible to automatically display changes in the
report viewer?

    Hi Pavel,

ReportBuilder was not designed for this type of on-demand processing. You
will need to regenerate the report each time you change the data which could
prove to be slower than you would like. My suggestion would be to give it a
try and see if the results are workable. You will probably want to generate
the report initially and then when the data grid is changed, completely
regenerate the report so the updated data is displayed.
