RB Pro 7.04 with TeeChart 7.01

Hi,

Has anyone else had problems with this combination. I'm getting an AV
error when I try drop a chart into the report at design time.Even if I
start a new application and simply add ppChrt to the USES I get ?[Fatal
Error] Unit1.pas(8): Unit ppChrt was compiled with a different version
of Chart.TCustomChart?, when I compile


RB Pro 7.04
TeeChart 7.01
D7 Pro
Windows XP

Ivan,

ReportBuilder 7.04 was built with the TeeChart 7.01 packages. Be sure you
do not have any old TeeChart packages still in your library path, or old
ReportBuilder/TeeChart packages. You can also try changing your library
path to point toward \RBuilder\Source\... rather than \RBuilder\Lib\. This
will compile the RBuilder units with the current teechart packages.

Thanks Nico,

I tried you suggestion, and still have AV when attempting to drop a
chart into a report. I have also tried on a clean machine (no older
TeeChart or RB files) with a fresh installation of D7, TeeChart & RB.
Same problem.

Hi Ivan,

Sorry about that, I seemed to ignore the fact that you are using TeeChart
7.01. The Steema guys must have just released this version without me
knowing about it. ReportBuilder 7.04 was built with TeeChart 7.0 packages.
I will contact Steema and get a copy of the new version so I can rebuild the
ReportBuilder packages. Once this is done, I'll create a patch for anyone
using TeeChart 7.01. If you need TeeChart support immediately, you can try
recompiling the packages yourself. Instructions are located in the
ReportBuilder help under the ReportBuilder Reference | TeeChart | Delphi X
|... section and then clicking the TeeChart 7.0 link. Thanks for your

Ivan,

After looking on the Steema site, it looks as though TeeChart 7.01 has not
yet been released. ReportBuilder does not support the beta versions of
TeeChart. You will need to continue to use TeeChart 7.0 until the final
version of TeeChart 7.01 is released.

Thanks Nico,

I guessed I missed the part about 7.01 being a beta. I have downloaded
ver 7.0 and re-installed. All is working now.
