Vertical lines from top to bottom

edited July 2004 in General
I've got a repport with a header/detail/footer band. I want to draw lines at
the right and left side of my repport from the top of the page to the
bottom.

The thing I don't get is that my detail band is taking up more space then it
should.. I've set it to dynamic height but even when the band is empty it
still uses space so the detail/footer band don't touch eachother and the
lines at both sides are broken.

Is the position of the footer always so that the bottom of my footer touches
the bottom of the page or does it start where the detail band ends?
Why is my detail band using more space then it should? How can I connect the
lines in my header/detail/footer band?

Thnx for your help! :)

    Hi Wouter,

The footer band will always take up a pre-allocated space at the bottom of a
page. The is the only band you do not have vertical control over. Instead
of placing lines in each band, I would suggest using the PageStyle band
(Report | Page Style... main menu option) to create the lines. The page
style will print behind your report on each page of the report. You would
need to give the band a vertical size equal to the paper you are using and
then simply add a vertical line to both sides.
