Putting dynamic group footer at bottom of page

edited August 2004 in General
Is there a way to get a dynamic height group footer band to print at the
bottom of the page, just above the page footer, rather than immediately
after the last details?

I figure it involves setting the band position depending on the height and
report page and footer heights, but in which event (so that the band height
is correctly calculated allowing for the components within it to stretch)?
My attempts have caused infinite loops!

TIA
Dave

    Hi Dave,

You can set the print position of a band any time before it begins to
generate. The best place would probably be in the OnStartPage event of the
report. If you can calculate ahead of time what the space taken by your
detail band is and the height of the group footer, you could use these
values to calculate where the print position should be on your page, in that
    event.

    Hi Nico

I'm afraid I got in a mess trying to calculate ahead of time the space the
bands would take. Finally, with a visit to the Tamarack site, searching this
forum gave me a reference to

and I have managed to adapt that to my group footer. Maybe using Draw
commands is overkill, but it was a relief not have any infinite looping.

    Cheers
    Dave
