Setting font on a group header ppVariable

I have a ppVariable in a group heading with the value calculated from two other ppVariables in the group header (which are aggregations of data within the group). (All are CalcOn Traversal, ResetOn GroupEnd)

I need to set the font.color of the ppVariable according to its value. I have tried to do this in the GetText event, but do not get the expected results. The value passed to the GetText event is not the value that appears in the report.

Any idea what I can do?
