Report Won't Print To Printer

edited September 2004 in General
I've just recently upgraded to RB Pro 7.04... I have one report in my
application which some clients are complaining, won't print. The report is
generated... the user can see the report in the preview; however, when they
send it to the printer nothing ever prints. They assure me they have the
latest printer drivers loaded. The report is very basic - a header, a
detail line, and summary band. The detail contains several DBText fields
and 3 DBCheckBoxes. The clients report they can see the printer "blink"
when the report is sent - but no hard copy. This is only occurring on some
of the clients systems - the printers having the problem are HP 5P and HP 6P
printer. Any idea why this might be happening. FYI - the report prints with
no problem on the 4 various HP printers I have in my office; however, I
don't have an HP 5P or 6P printer for testing. The report printed properly
for all of the client's systems before I upgraded - but now there is a
problem. Thanks for any help.

    Hi Joe,

We have not seen this behavior before. Are your customers able to print any
of their reports? Perhaps a simple report with a lable or shape on it. You
might try removing objects from the report in question to isolate the
problem. Meanwhile I will download the HP 5P driver and give it a quick
    test.

The application in question has 12 other reports that print with no
problem... however, none of the other reports contain a DBCheckBox..

    Hi Joe,

I installed the HP 5P driver on my machine and tested a report with the
DBCheckbox and everything seemed to work correctly. There were no updates
to the DBCheckBox component between versions 7.03 and 7.04. Are you certain
that your customers are able to print correctly using 7.03 with their
    current configuration?

    Nico,

Actually, the prior version I was refering to was RB Pro 6.02.... using
Delphi 5.... This summer I upgraded to Delphi 7 and RB Pro 7.04. Since
this particular customer is located several hundred miles away - I was
relying on them to tell me the truth - they claim they have the latest
drivers loaded. I finally called a friend in their area and had him drive
over to their site to check one of the systems that wouldn't print. He
downloaded and installed the latest drivers from HP - and now the report
prints.... Apparently their "old" drivers worked with RB Pro 6.02... but had
a problem with version 7.04. Sorry to bother about the problem - they had
assured us that the latest drivers had been installed.

    Joe
