edited October 2004 in General
HI.

Any sign of an RB for Delphi 9 yet ?

Quite a few people down this way are interested in this.

Thanks,

Tony

Quite a few people down my way are interested too, especially in how .NET
will be supported in the future.

Following Borland's release of Delphi 9, Digital Metaphors will release
    ReportBuilder 9.

ReportBuilder 9 will include many new enhancements and will support VCL
    Win32 for Delphi 9, Delphi 7, and Delphi 6.

** Customers purchasing a new license to RB 7 today will receive a free
    upgrade.

A ReportBuilder for VCL .NET has been in the works for quite some time.
However, it will not be released unless the VCL .NET framework can prove
itself to be a viable class library for building non-trivial applications.
    :)

Do you have any plans for a non VCL .NET version of ReportBuilder? I
understand this would be a complete redevelopment but if it is as good as
the VCL version then I am sure you would grab a pretty large share of the
.NET market which is of course considerably larger than the VCL market. It
is a shame to have to move to another product when doing .NET development
after using RB for so long.

Yes, we plan to offer a pure .NET version of RB. :)

This will be completed in the longer term future, although perhaps we will
be able to offer a hybrid solution as an incremental step. Would you have
any interest in a product that would run your Win32 reports on a server and
support .NET clients and ASP.NET clients? It is something we are considering
    as incremental step.

    and
    considering

That is something I could probably use, especially the ASP.NET clients. One
of my major issues is that hosting companies dont like the idea of me
    running binaries.
