recompiling BuildPro.dpr

edited November 2004 in General
I've installed RBPro 7.02.
Everything seem to be ok.
I want to modify source code (to support EAN128 barcode) and recompile.
Before any modification, the project can't be compiled.
DsgnIntf file is missing.

I need to modify ppDrwCmd.pas for EAN128 barcode.
Do I need to recompile RB after my modification ? If yes, why the RB source
code can't becompiled ?

Add DesignIDE to the requires clause of the package.

Could you be more precise ?
There is a DesignIDE70.bpl file in Delphi\Bin folder. But when I try to
install it in the packages window, nothing happen.

Sorry, I re-read your original post. You don't need to compile BuildPro.dpr
    to accomplish what you need.

    1. Modify your Delphi libarary path from RBuilder\Lib to RBuilder\Source.
Then recompile your Delphi project that has 'ppDrwCmd' in the uses clause.
That will generate a new ppDrwCmd.dcu that you can copy to RBuilder\Lib.

    2. If you want to recopmile the RB package that contains ppDrwCmd, then in
addition to number 1 above, recompile rbRCL.dpk. Copy the rbRCL.bpl to
    Windows\System32 and copy rbRCL.dcp to RBuilder\Lib.

OK, I followed step 1 and now ppDrwCmd.pas is compiled as my app is
    compiled.
But there is a compilation error :
ppBarCode has been compiled with a different version of
    ppDrwCmd.TppDrawBarCode.

Perhaps my unsuccessfull recompilation of BuildPro.dpr has modified
something and I need to reinstall RB ?

Sorry to anoy you with that :-(

    Hi Marc,

Be sure you do not have \RBuilder\Lib\ in your library path still. Then
check to see that there are no .dcu files in the \RBuilder\Source\...
    directory and rebuild.
