New Blog Posts: Merging Reports - Part 1 and Part 2

More open in Suggestions

edited December 2004 in General
Over the years, in several posts i got a reply similar to 'Thanks, good
suggestion, w'll place it on our to-do list"
Wouldn't it be great that in maybe a separate newsgroup we can see this
to-do list and even discuss it.
There we could also see what to-do's are considired for what new release.
I understand completelly that not every to-do is easy and even realizable
without major changes so that it can't be included in a next minor releasei
don't want to pinpoint DM people to publish dates on that group, that not my
goal, to know when next release will come.
But i'm interested to know and discuss some to-do's that are realy
considerred.
Because not all of your comments that where given as 'to be added' are
realised. And in that case it would be nice/polite to let the users know why
not.

Kind Regards
Harry Leboeuf.

    Hi Harry,

Digital Metaphors looks at three main items when deciding which new features
to add to the next release of ReportBuilder.

    1. The amount of feedback we have received about the specific feature.
(note that this is not fully reflected in the newsgroups, we received many
    emails daily requesting new features).

    2. Is the feature possible to implement given the current archetecture of
    ReportBuilder.

    3. How much time will it take to implement the feature.

The features that were added into the newest version of ReportBuilder (9.0)
were all requested many times by many different users of RB.

    Nico,

I'm not complaining on how you select what features to be added and what
not, and how you select them, i'm just asking for some more transparancy on
    this issue.
I know that only few software companies are doing this but it is a very
open/nice way of working with your users/community.

    Kind Regards.
