RB hangs

Short summary what I'm trying to do.
A user can select a number of fields from a table to print.
These are shown vertically (one beneath the other).

I create the report dynamically.

When a user selects more fields then can fit on a page, reportbuilder
goes in a loop.
text does not fit on page -> new page -> text does not fit on page -> ...

I'm trying to calculate if the chosen field still fits on the page.
I have the Y coordinate in the band, but I lack the position op the band
in respect to the page to compare the position of the field to the
height of the page.

I can't calculate the number of fields that can fit on a page because
the user can select the font and font-size.

To make matters a bit more complex.
The user can use subreports, so there is no way to calculate how many
fields will fit.

Any idea's?

Hi,

The latest version of ReportBuilder includes more enhanced support for
endless page detection. This will let the user know that their report has
entered an endless page state and automatically stop the generation. I
would suggest downloading a trial version of RB 9.01 and see if that works
for you.
