PageStyle.Pagesetting=psPagelist not working

I have a pagestyle on a subreport that I would like to only appear on
certain pages.
Setting the pageStyle.PageSetting to psPageList and adding some page
numbers to the PageList results in NO pagestyles being shown.
Putting the same page numbers in ValidPages DOES show the pageStyles.

Am I missing something, or does this sound like a bug?
