Print To PDF Causes Access Violation

edited January 2005 in General
Hi,

I just downloaded and installed the RB 9.01 Enterprise trial version into D7
pro with update 1.

I set up a simple test app with two reports to print to PDF. I set the print
to file option and the OpenPDFFile. I also put ppPDFDevice in the uses
clause.

The report displays OK in Print Preview, I select the print dialog, select
the PDF File, give it a name, then the dialog to overwrite the existing PDF
displays, I say yes - then Access Violation. Similar thing happens if no
prior PDF file existed.

I answered ok and continued to run and the PDF file is created and displays
with Adobe, and looks OK??

I went and uninstalled RB from Delphi, and from Add Remove programs, and
deleted the RB folder. I then re booted and reinstalled the RB 9 trial. Same
results, Access Violation?? I'm using Rich Text memo fields in the database
that were created with Infopower.

Any ideas what might be happening???

    Hi Austin,

Does the AV give you any more information? If you set your library path to
\RBuilder\Source\ and have the Delphi IDE stop on exceptions, are you able
to trace into the ReportBuilder source?

    Nico,

I have the trial version of RB 9 without source. The addresses in the AV are
    probably not meaningful??

I'm using Rich Text memo fields in the database that were created with
    Infopower.

If I remove the ppDBRichText Controls, I do not get the AV.

I can send a demo to you if you want.

    Hi Austin,

Yes, please send a small demo in .zip format to
support@digital-metaphors.com and I'll take a look at it for you.
