Teechart Error

edited February 2005 in General
Hi,

I have developed a reporting module addon to our datawarehouse (Oracle)
which works very well however, when I preview reports which contain no
graphs and then exit the application everything is fine. If I preview a
report with a Teechart on it and then exit the application I get an error of
the type 'myapp.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows...
etc'. I've closed sessions and issued commits etc before the app terminates.
I am using RB 7.04 / Delphi 6 / Teechart 6.01

Any ideas ?

thanks in advance

Glenn

    Hi Glenn,

Does this behavior only happen when you are connected to an Oracle database?
Are you able to get the TeeChart demo to work in the \RBuilder\Demos\1.
    Reports\... directory?

    Hi

I can't run the demo in the RB dir for different reasons (certain components
missing from my environments), I just wondered if there was something I
wasnt destroying or closing down before terminating the application, sorry I
can't be more specific but I'm at a loss as to whats happening in terms of
Teecharts after they are displayed. I shall have another go at the demo on
    another pc later on tonight.

    cheers

    Glenn

For the record: I have a few TChart reports and haven't seen any issues like
that. Something like this can be a bear to debug--madExcept may help, but I
    doubt it.

Thanks Ed. still wrestling with it at the moment.

Hi again Ed, I'm assuming you dont make any special provision for the
Teecharts in terms of when the reports are closed down ?, my assumption is
that when the report is closed then it looks after everything inside it . I
had a sneaky suspicion that it may have been due to the Teecharts bleeding
over the margins but this isnt the case

Sorry--was out of town. correct--I really don't know what might be causing
    the issue(s).
