AVing due to Tee Chart on report

I have written a small app. which creates a report with a TeeChart with two
series bound to two pipelines. All morning I have been trying to trace down
an exit AV and finally traced it to the TeeChart. The app runs correctly
until exiting.

Finally I added ppDPTeeChart1.Free to my Form Closed event handler and all
is fine.

The question is, why do I have to free and component dropped onto a report?
I did not create it in code. Is this a bug? I noted someone below with a
similar problem. Possibly this is his answer.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the information. Which version of ReportBuilder/TeeChart/Delphi
are you currently using? In the past TeeChart has had some destroy issues
with ReportBuilder. I would like to see if I can recreate them on my
machine.

ReportBuilder Ent. 7.04 and TeeChart Pro v 6.01

Hi Larry,

Yes, the destroy bug(s) in TeeChart were present in TeeChart 6.01. Some of
them were fixed for TeeChart 7, however we still were able to create an AV
in some cases. We have been in contact with the Steema engineers about this
issue and have send numerous examples recreating the issue without
ReportBuilder. They have told us many times that this issue was in the
process of being fixed.

One of our other customers (Harry, Leboeuf) was recently able to find a
solution to this problem and it may be helpful to you as well. I would
suggest upgrading to the latest version of TeeChart support for your version
of ReportBuilder (TeeChart 7.0) and taking a look at Harry's advise. His
post is the most recent thread in the Server newsgroup under the topic
"TeeChart killing you, try this".
