PDF exporting problems...

edited May 2005 in General
Hi!
We have bought RB 9.02 Enterprise and it works great. But with exporting
reports to PDF I get problems. If I export a report with JPG image, I get
exception, sometimes external exception, sometimes priviledged
instructions... Anyway, printing to a paper and getting print preview works
okay, PDF export with JPG files does not. I can get only BMP pictures in
PDF. Any ideas? I use GraphicEx in uses clause.
The next and even more important problem are our national characters. In
report I have set Eastern_Europe and Default_character set and both work
perfectly with printing to the paper and for print preview. Exporting to PDF
I get problems with some letters, like ? (ch, c with circumflex). Any ideas?
I have Acrobat 5 CE here and have exported a lot of documents form Word,
Excel and printed also from MS Explorer to PDF and have no problems...

I use Delphi 7 Pro, RB9.02 Enterprise, Windows XP Sp2 Slovenian regional and
other settings.

Best regards,
Goran

    Hi Goran,

There is a patch avaiable that fixes the image problem when exporting to PDF
in RB 9.02. Please send a small e-mail to support@digital-metaphors.com
requesting this patch and we'll send it out to you asap.

The PDF export for RB 9.02 does not currently support embedded fonts which
makes some characters not available or show up incorrectly. It is on our
todo list to research this and possibly add it to a later release of
ReportBuilder. If possible please send me a small example of a report with
this character that exports incorrectly and I'll take a look to see if there
is anything that can be done as a workaround. Send the example in .zip
format to the e-mail address above.
