True Left Outer Join on DADE
Hi All,
Actually I am designing a report tha reads data over two tables, Orders
and Sales. The main problem is that I can have a sale without an order. So
for example, i Have this orders
ORDERS
ORD.NO Date Customer Product
1 05-14-05 Carlson 320-HDS-12
2 05-15-05 John 950-TDS-01
I have these sales
SALES
SALE.NO Date Customer Product Order
1 05-15-05 Carlson 320-HDS-12 1
2 05-15-05 John 950-TDS-01 2
3 05-15-05 Peter 121-A-111 ( NULL)
My report is based on sales, but it show the orders information (if a order
for that sale exists). But what i got is no sales information when my sale
dosnt have an order. When i amselecting tables on dade I have an option to
selet what kind of relationship I would have, but even when i Select Left
Outer Join, or Full Join, the generates SQL doesnt have any left outer or
full outer statemente. So i am guessing rb doesnt respect my choice, or i am
doing something wrong?
Tx till now!!!

Which database are you connecting to? Some databases do not support this
type of operation.

What I had to do was go to File | Data Settings and set the SQL Type to
"SQL 2". This was for a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database.
I would rather it default this way, but I don't know how to retain the
setting.

Thanks for the info. We will look into updating this for a later release.
