9.02 UI Requests

edited May 2005 in General
I have a number of small Interface requests for future RB builds...

1) Toolbars
It would be great to have a Select All option so that every time you launch
RB on a new machine, you do not have to check each item individually.
2) Report/Data Trees
Since 9.02, when you select these items the first time, the size of the
windows is often so small that it is difficult to expand them (some use of
the Minimum width and height settings would be nice).
3) Toolbar Icons
Sometimes, when you enable an Toolbar item, the icons are partially obscured
or not displayed and only become visible by closing the RB Editor and
opening it again.
4) Rich Text Editor
The default position and size of this window on lower resolution screens
obscures the new windows on the right hand side requiring it to be moved.
It would be better that the window is centred on the screen, and sized
according to the display width.
5) Copy and Paste
It was possible is earlier builds to copy selected items from one report and
paste them into another (but this seems to have been lost with the Undo
option).
6) Moving Items within Bands
When designing a form, you may opt to move many items from say the Header
Band to the Page Layout band. At the moment, this is difficult because when
you drag the items, the page position does not automatically scroll when you
get down the bottom of the page, and so you must release the items, scroll
down, and move them again. When you have lots of bands defined this can be
very tedious...

Apart from that the move to v9 was quite painless and well worth the new
features!

    Hi Peter,

Thanks for the suggestions. The ability to copy report components from one
report object to another seems to be working fine in my testing. Which
version of Delphi are you using?

Delphi 7 - just tested it and you are right it seems to be fine. Must just
be a naughty application not releasing the clipboard!!
