Problems with DbCalcs in footer

Hi, I have always this problem with Rb 7.04:
I have a report with master band and detail data in subreport like this:

Master band : cod. description Amount
detail band (subpreport): ............
Footer : dbcalc(Amount) sum

I have a sum Dbcalc that show a total of the master field "amount" in the
footer;
The master band is dynamic because the description is a memo;
The value showed in the footer contains the correct sum + the first amount
that is printed in the next page.
(seems that the calculation is performed before valutate if there is enought
space for print the band)
How I can solve this problem?

Hi Stefano,

This is a limitation of ReportBuilder 7.04 and earlier. The limitation has
been removed for RB 9 or higher. If you would like to make a calculation
like this one, please upgrade to the latest version of ReportBuilder.

you tell me that a simple Dbcalc (sum) of a dynamic detail is wrong in 7.04
and earlier?

Hi Stefano,

Yes, trying to calculate a sum inside the page footer with a dynamic height
detail band will not work correctly in RB 7.04 or earlier.

Ok, Nico;
I have used Rb 9 with a disaster result!
Running sum don't work anymore, calculation on footer or header, or across
page work in total different mode (the report that work correctly in Rb7,
are wrong on calc and Sum with Rb9)-
So I cannot use RB 9 immediately; It work differently on calculate
variables, etc.
I need a workaround for totalize correctly in RB7.04. Stop. With use of
calcs or others.
Then, when the entire project (200 reports with summaries and running calcs)
is migrate on rb 9 I can tranquilly re-corvert report.
Please tell me how I can solve my problem using variables or other system.
Urgent, please!

Hi Stefano,

The calculations and timing should have changed between versions. What
exactly are you trying to calculate in you page footer. Perhaps a better
description of what you would like your reports to look like would help me.
Also, if possible, please create a small example I can run on my machine
that demonstrates the issue and send it in .zip format to
support@digital-metaphors.com and I'll take a look at it for you.
