static height detail band can not fit on page

my report bails with the message above.
will setting the page height to dynamic fix this ?
what causes this?

Hi Chester,

This message indicates that you have sized your static detail band too large
to fit on the paper size you are using. If you would like ReportBuilder to
automatically break to a new page once there is no room left on a page, try
using a dynamic height detail band.
