Anyone worked with them that can give some advise as to why I'm not getting
any text out?

TIA,

Here is some verbiage from BOCA...

"The simplest and preferred way to communicate with your BOCA printer is to
open a port (parallel, serial or USB) and to write directly to the port."

How can I do this (i.e. not using a printer driver, per se, but
    generic/text) with Report Writer?

    TIA,

    Hi Kumar,

A printer driver is required by ReportBuilder to produce output to a printer
device. ReportBuilder by design uses the Windows API to communicate with
your printer driver which in turn sends commands to your printer. If you
are currently able to print to your BOCA printer with other code or another
application, you may be able to export your report to a text file and simply
print that text file as you need.
