Autosearch on variables?

edited July 2005 in General
Is there a way to allow the end user to customize the output of the report?

Ideally what I would like is a means to add Autosearch filters in the form
of a checkbox, etc. that I could test against to display or hide
sub-reports, etc. Any ideas on how to do this?

I have a complex report that I allow the end users to customize by using
drop-down lists and checkboxes. I take care of those settings in the
application's configuration rather than in the Autosearch. If you can live
with the settings being set outside of the Autosearch dialogue it's very
easy to implement turning a report's groups and subreports visibility on and
off in the event handlers. If you need to get the input in the Autosearch
dialog, though, I'll let the ReportBuilder guys handle it!

    Hi Alex,

It is possible to create a custom Autosearch dialog in which you could add
you own custom design as well as other features (to hide a subreport
perhaps) if you like. Take a look at the example located in the
    \RBuilder\Demos\5. AutoSearch\4. Custom AutoSearch Dialog\... directory.
