Memory usage when deleting reports
Hi,
Currently using RB Ent 7.03, when reports are deleted (and thus
relocated to the recycle bin), the memory usage starts going through
the roof. The more reports are deleted, the more it goes up, only
being freed when the entire application is closed.
Anyone know what's going on here? Has this issue been fixed in a
later release? Is there any workaround?
Thanks.

1. Which database/connectivity are you currently using? Are you able to
recreate this behavior using one of our end user demos?
2. How are you monitoring memory usage?
3. At what time is the memory usage increasing. Moving a report to the
recycle bin in the Report Explorer simply changes the FolderID record for
that report to the reserved Recycle Bin's ID.

Hi,
Access and MSSQL, both via ADO. I've not tried it with one of your
demos yet.
Literally in the performance tab of task manager, it's that obvious.
That's what I assumed was happening. Basically I right-click a report
and select delete and at that precise moment the memory usage jumps by
approximage 8MB.

In my testing with our demo application and SQL Server I was not able to
create the behavior your describe when deleting reports from the report
explorer using RB 9.02. Are these reports very large? Do they each contain
numerous large images or richtext components? Are you able to create the
same behavior using our MS SQL Server demo?
My suggestion would be to download a trial version of RB 9.02 and test your
app with that.
