This is a feature that we would very much like to add.
We are hopeful that Borland will add Unicode support to the VCL in a future release - to make this a more manageable task for us.
As a side note, it is our understanding that Unicode is not required to display a language properly. Any language can be displayed properly by configuring the Windows regional settings properly. However, if an application needs to display multiple languages, then Unicode is required.
UNICODE is a very important functionality for all multilingual switching applications. But making an application available under several languages there are a lot of minor things that can be done.
Another point is to split the messages in user messages and printable messages. So the IDE stuff and also Autosearchfield makes are user depended. But some of the report builder resource strings are for printing. So for all printing resource strings it would be useful to have a simple way to overwrite the output string, because it is depending on the language of the user who gets the document (Document Language).
Also it would be nice to change the formatting. All formatting normally depends on the Windows locales. But if i print a document with a French Windows to a customer in UK, then the formatting of date and numbers should be like usual in UK. So it would be a cool feature tells RB not to use only the Delphi format settings, it should also be possible to set the settings depending on the receiver's country.
We at EULANDA Software had done a lot of work to get around such and other problems to get a good Multilanguage ERP Software, but some ways are really difficult and some things are not possible (but would be important to have).
So in my opinion it would be a way to make a new report builder edition e.g. "Universal" or what ever called, which is a international enterprise. Because only some people need a real Multilanguage switching application, it could be a little bit more expensive product than the single language versions of RB.
