Group Headers

edited November 2005 in General
Hello,

I have Report Builder Professional Edition 6.03 and Delphi 6.0 with
Windows 2000.

I've searched the newsgroup postings in the following groups:
general, end-user and tech-tips
for tips on how to set up group headers for a Customer Account Statement
scenario. I was not able to find what I was looking for: examples for
several scenarios and/or how the group headers and the group header
properties were set up to accomplish this.

Background:
Report is a Customer Account Statement which needs to be grouped on a
customerid and a subaccountid.
The main report's source is from the master table.
The detail contains a subreport whose datapipeline is set to the detail
table (it is a master/detail relationship by customerid and subaccountid).
The summary fields are from a new subreport placed on the detail summary
band and the datapipeline is set to the same master table as stated on the
Main report.

The detail records should immediately follow the group headers with the
balance forward amount.
The detail records could contain a number of records that will print on more
than one page.
At the end of the current customerid, subaccountid, the summary fields from
the
subreport placed in the detail summary band should print immediately
following the detail band.
When the report encounters a new customerid and subaccountid, it needs to
start a new page.

Problem:
Have been unsuccessful in having the report show a balance forward (fields
put in the group header which will display on page 1 only) followed by the
detail records followed by the summary fields (from subreport 2).

The balance forward record (from fields placed in the group header of the
main report) shows up all by itself on a page (Page 1).
The customer's detail records that is set up in the subreport 1 shows up on
the next page which would be page 2. (page 2 if I have 1 group header;
page 3 if I have 2 group headers)
The summary fields (from fields in subreport 2) don't show up on the detail
page or on another page. FYI, subreport 2 datapipeline is set to the same
master table used on the main report.

Please help. Thank you in advance!

Karen
