Report print only the first page
Hi,
One customer is using quit unknown printers. When opening a report from the
reportexplorer and printing it, only the first page is printed. All other
reports in the program who are printed outside the explorer work well. No
other customer has these kind of problems.

We have not seen this behavior before. If you save one of the templates
being loaded in the explorer to file then try to load that report in Delphi
do you still get the same behavior? What type of printer is your customer
using? Perhaps I can install the driver on my machine and test here.

It took some time but here is the printer that causes the problem:
Canon laserbase mf5750
One other customer is also complaining. It seem with all-in-one printers
(printer/fax/copy) there could be some problems.
Eric
I Also tested the report in Delphi by loading the rtm directly into a rb
report.
On my pc it prints ok.
Eric
Any reaction on this subject please.
Eric
I downloaded and installed the Canon Laserbase MF5750 driver, set it as my
default printer driver and was able to preview a multi-page report
successfully? Is this behavior only occuring when send to the printer? Are
there certain reports that will print successfully?

The answes on your question:
Is this behavior only occuring when send to the printer?
Yes, when I'm printing it to file (excel) there's no problem
Are there certain reports that will print successfully?
No
Eric
I'm sorry but I'm at a loss. The fact that this problem is only occuring
with the use of a specific printer leads me to believe that it is a printer
issue. Be sure you are using the latest Canon driver from their web site.
Is there a way to perhaps disable the fax and scan features of the printer
temporarily to see if that helps?

I'm to.
I asked the customer to be sure he uses the latest drivers. Now he is
convinced that we can't do anything about the problem.
I don't expect RB as the problem. But it is still strange that it works for
all other applications.
Eric
Yes, there could be somewhere in our code that could be altered for this
special case however it is virtually impossible for us to do anything unless
we are able to recreate the issue on our machines. I can tell you that
ReportBuilder uses very general Windows API commands to communciate with the
printer driver.

I understand. Lets see what the customer is going to do.
Eric
Finally found what was happening.
The printer has troubles with the paper type "letter" (which is the
default)
When setting it to "A4" all went well.
Eric
Great news. Thanks for the update.
