Delphi 2006
Hello,
when will ReportBuilder be available to Delphi 2006? I have ported or downloaded all my other libraries (about 20). The last remaining library is ReportBuilder.
By the way: Is there any way to replace RAP with an other scripting engine? For other purposes I use paxScripter a very powerful scripting engine (and supports other scripting languages).
Thank you
Michael

Sorry, but there is no way to replace RAP.

Will the ability to replace RAP and "plug-in" other scripting engines be
something that will be considered for future releases? This is something
that we would be interested in as well. As it is now our users need to
learn RAP for use within ReportBuilder as well as PascalScript for all other
scripting that is available within our software. I realize that this might
seem minor and that the knowledge is transferable between RAP and
PascalScript however from an end-user perspective this is a much bigger
deal. Plus, as Michael mentioned, plugging in a scripting engine that
supported multiple scripting languages would be of great benefit to
end-users and developers, especially for those of us developing commercial
software with a large and diverse customer base.
I look forward to the Delphi 2006 compatible release. Thanks for all the
hard work and a great product.

Thanks for the feeback. This would be a great feature and yes we can
consider it. However at this point we do not have any estimate for the
development effort required to implement such a feature. RAP was not
originally designed to enable pluggable scripting so there may be some
formidable obstacles. Some preliminary analysis needs to be done...
