Road map for D2006

edited January 2006 in General

Do you have a road map or time table for D2006 support?

TIA

My best guess is that we are two weeks away. We are in the final stages of
    testing/debugging....

There is trial version of RB Enterprise on the Delphi 2006 Partner CD that
you can use until we have a final release.

    1. The Borland Delphi 2006 Partner CD is included with Delphi 2006.

    2. The Borland Delphi 2006 Partner CD submissions are also available for
    download from Borland's web site

You can use the following link to download the RB Enterprise for D2006
    trial

    Guys,

Don't get me wrong as I really like RB and I hope you will continue with
    the good work.

    However, just a curious thought.
D2006 was released at the beginning of December 2005, shouldn't you
have a release of RB finished at latest the end of December as you are
    a D2006 partner?

How comes that the Developer Express already have D2006 compliant products?

    Am I missing something?

We are behind schedule. This is the first time we have missed having a
release available as soon as the Borland release. We'll do everything we can
to prevent that from happening again in the future. Thanks for your
    patience.

I, too, was a bit curious about the delayed delivery. But I also
found my anxiety lessened having read a clear statement about the
unintentional delays and future intentions - without a PR spin dancing
around the issue. It could have been made sooner but I was glad to
    see this information, regardless.

I appreciated Borland's straight forward approach as well when they
clearly explained the delay in the C++ component of the D2006 release.
I only hope that we can continue this trend of direct and honest
communication between the software companies and developers who depend
on the products for their livelihood.

I completely understand that you have missed a deadline and I also
agree that this is out of character for DM. However, it seems to me
that releasing RB 9 for D2006 would have been a better way to keep
customers happy and give DM more time to perfect the next version.
Since you are in the final stages of debugging can you give me some
idea of what is new in RB 10.

    Regards,
    Will.

I think the presence of a compatible product on the Partner CD is
acceptible in lieu of the full release.

    Nard,

It has been over two weeks. You obviously have a 9 version running as I
installed the demo off the CD's. I am sorry you misjudged your
schedule, but for the benefit of your custmers, PLEASE release a
non-demo version of the one included on the CD.

    TIA

We had a grace period last time and will be doing so again.
