ReportBuilder version with all the source code
I read that DM sells ReportBuilder with full source code, but for some
levels of RB you only get some of the source code ...Bad Business
What I want to know is, which levels (Pro, Ent., C/S, etc.) comes with full,
totally changeable and compilable source code?
I don't want to run into the problem that those other customers.
Thanks
P.S. Do you have a version for BDS2006, if not, when?

Thanks for interest in ReportBuilder.
1. Please post with your full name - see the newsgroup guidelines on support
section of our web site.

2. ReportBuilder Professional includes full source code
ReportBuilder Enterprise adds RAP (run-time Pascal Environment) and
Reportbuilder Server Edition adds Server functionality. The RAP units are
prefixed with 'ra' and the server related units are prefixed with 'rs'. The
source code to these units is not available. Unfortunately our competition
uses our source code to steal our proprietary trade secrets and intellectual
property. For this reason, the source code to these units is not available.
3. There is trial version of RB Enterprise for Delphi 2006 on the Delphi
2006 Partner CD. We are a couple of weeks away from a final release. Sorry
for the delay, we missed our deadline but are working hard to finalize the
release.

ReportBuilder Standard edition also includes full source code.

Nard,
I use RB standard. Is it possible for me to use the trial of RB
Enterprise, then "downgrade" to Standard, when it is released?
TIA,
Bill
Yes. When using the RB Enterprise trial, refrain from using
- the Data and Calc workspace of the Report Designer
- the TppDesigner, TppReportExplorer, and TppDataDictionary components
installed on the Delphi palette
- the Crosstab component installed on the Report Designer component palette
You can use the Delphi Install Packages dialog to uninstall the
ReportBuilder Data Access related packages and the ReportBuilder RAP
Language. This will effectively uninstall the Data and Calc workspace from
the Report Designer.
