JPEG Images

edited January 2006 in General
Hi

I am displaying images in a TppDBImage component. On my own machine and
my client's workstations everything displays correctly. However, I
connect to a server on my client's system and run the application in a
Terminal Services session. In a report, the bitmap images appear
correctly but the colours of the JPEGs are totally wrong, almost a
negative image. The same images appear fine on a normal Delphi form
viewed on the same machine.

I have run a test report on a different terminal services server and the
images appear correctly. My conclusion is that there is some setting on
the client's server which is the source of the problem. It is locked
down so I cannot poke around but I did notice that it has kodak imaging
installed.

Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Dave

Using 9.03 and the latest copy of ppCtrls (thanks again, Nard).

    Hi Dave,

We have not seen this behavior before. JPEG images are rendered to the
screen using the built-in Delphi TJPEGImage object. I do not believe Kodak
Imaging should have any effect on the ReportBuilder output. Do you see the
same behavior when printing from that machine?

I haven't been able to test printing so far - the cartridge on my colour
printer has dried up. I have output to a PDF file and the strange
colours are there too - admittedly viewed in a TS session on the same
    machine.

It's not causing a problem. Apart from myself, the other people
connecting to this machine will not be running these reports.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the info. I will keep this issue in mind and if I come up with
anything, I will let you know. If you do come across the cause of the
problem, please let me know so I can try to recreate it on my machine and
    hopefully fix it.
