Big problem with a DBMemo and a label

edited February 2006 in General
Hi there,

first of all: all went fine before the update to version 9.03. Then this
happened:

There is a DBMemo with the stretch-option enabled. In design mode it is VERY
flat, because there are records where this field is empty. So it only uses
the needed heigth. Below the DBMemo there is a label which is filled with
text depending on some criteria. If there is text in the memo everything is
fine due to the Anchor of the label (Bottom) it moves as far as needed
depending on the amount of text in the memo. As soon as there is no text in
the memo the position of the label is getting crazy and moves UP (???) and
is placed across other DB-fields without any obvious reason. In Version 6 we
used the application without any change but there we had the
shiftwithparents-option at the label and everything was fine. Now there is
no such option anymore and we have this strange behaviour.

I hope I could make myself clear. Any help would be appreciated as this
issue is a major bug for our application. Otherwise we have to go back to
the old version.

Regards
Axel

    Hi Axel,

The ShiftWithParent feature has been deprecated due to the fact that
anchoring a component to the bottom performs the same task. Be sure all
components that were previously set to ShiftWithParent are now anchored to
the bottom. If possible, please send a small example of this behavior that
I can run on my machine in .zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com and
I'll take a look at it for you.
