Subreport Problem

edited February 2006 in General
Hi,

I have a report which has 2 subreports in the detail band but am having a
slight problem with it in that for some reason it is not printing on the
first page of the report??? All the data is all there and correct but it
starts printing the sub reports on the 2nd page instead of the first? Any
ideas?

    Hi Pete,

Are these subreports Section style? If so, you will need to remove your
report header, title, or any group headers present in order for it to start
on the first page. By definition, section style subreports start on their
own page and break a page after they are finished. If there is information
on your report before the subreport prints, it will show up on the its own
    page.

One option is to change to a child style subreport.

    Hi Nico,

The subreports both have their PrintBehavior set to pbChild. The interesting
thing is if I remove the 1st sub report, then the other subreport prints on
the 1st page but as soon as I put the it back on the report it insists on
starting printing on the 2nd page??

    Hi Pete,

Which version of ReportBuilder/Delphi are you using? As a test, try
starting with a blank report and place two child subreports into the detail
band (labeling each). Are you still getting the same behavior? If not, try
commenting out all your event code dealing with the report with problems and
see if the behavior stops. If so, periodically begin adding the event code
    back to isolate the problem.
