Designer Request/Suggestion

edited February 2006 in General
I have a report that has a lot of sub-reports (>20) and when working on
one of the last ones and doing a preview then going back to the design
tab always goes back to the main report rather than the sub-report I
was just working on.

With just a few its not a problem but with so many it's a pain to have
to scroll across the tabs at the bottom. It would be nice to either
return to the place I was working on (preferred) or have a quicker was
to get to one at the end.

Thanks
Jeremy Knowles

Thanks for the feedback. This feature has been added for the next
    maintenance release. :)

(Good timing, another customer emailed us this same request last week)

Great, thanks. I thought about asking about it before but knew you were
doing a new-look designer and thought I'd wait first!

    Nard,

Is this seriously going to be part of the next release? This has been one
of my major peeves about editing reports in RB.

Any possibilty of getting one more sorely needed enhancement? When you copy
and paste a regular calc object from one report to another, any possibility
that the copy and paste function can also copy the RAP code associated with
it as well. Even if this would only work from within one report to itself,
that would make some report development much easier.

    Hi,

I am missing this functionality too. Please add my vote to this.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the feedback.

We can consider this for the future. From a usability perspective, I am
concerned that many uses will not expect the code to be copied. But I have
three votes in favor :) I have not done enough research to estimate the
effor required to implement the feature - it is not a simple change I do
    know that.

Make that four ;-) For me, I'd expect everything about an object to be
copied which would include the RAP.

    Nard,

    Thank you.

For our users it would be expected. We moved from Crystal Reports (CR) over
to ReportBuilder with the last version of our product. Since CR had that
functionality, a lot of our end users had difficulties getting used to not
having the code behind the control copied with the object.

Ok, good information - I was not aware that CR did that..
