Some data loss on second preview

edited April 2006 in General
I have a report:
- Title
- Group Header with data field but set it invisible and set to start a new
page.
- Detail band -> some data fields and some labels
-> subreport
- Group Footer

When I first preview the report in my application, it's fine. The report
have page break when start a new group.
After I closed the preview, then preview the report again some data are
lost.

Title is still there.
In the details band, the data fields have no data printed out, ie blank, but
labels are there. The sub-report is fine.
In the group footer, it is totally missing, ie no footer band.

The records are one after one, no page break.

    Hi,

This is not a known issue. Which version of ReportBuilder/Delphi are you
using and which database/connectivity are you using? Are you able to
recreate this behavior with a simple example? Is there anything else you
are doing special with your data for this report? It seems that the current
field is not being reset for the second preview for some reason.

    I am using Delphi 7, RB 7.02.
In the second preview I used Showmessage to display the datafield value, no
problem, so the dataset has the correct value. In addition, the report is
the detail report of the data field, it has no problem as well.

The database is Firebird 1.5, FIBPlus 6.41 VCL.

We have not encountered this behavior before. Are you able to successfully
run the Master-Detail demos located in the \RBuilder\Demos\1. Reports\...
directory. I recommend first updating your version of ReportBuilder to RB
7.04 and seeing if that helps. If not, try downloading a trial version of
RB 10.02 for Delphi 7 and test with that. Contact
info@digital-metaphors.com with your serial number for upgrade information.
