RB 7.04 to 10.02

edited April 2006 in General
Hooray

Just got 10.02...

Now scared.... is there any gotchas to look out for. Have not done an
upgrade for ages and seem to remember having problems last time I did.

Any advice going from 7.04 to 10.02 (Delphi 7)

Using Walers TExtraDevces and Tchart as well. I guess need new versions of
these too

Cheers

Mark

PS Looking forward to play with new features especially XP look and feel.
Had to do my own stuff using third party stuff (SUIPack etc) before...

    Hi Mark,

Yes, you will need a new version of TExtraDevices to work with the new
architecture. Take a look at the help in the ReportBuilder Reference |
TeeChart | Delphi 7.. section for the supported versions of TeeChart. If
you selected TeeChart support in the installation, it may already work. RB
10.02 supports the latest version of TeeChart Pro as well (7.06).

Be sure to back up your old templates before loading them in RB 10.02. If
you run across any issues, post them here or send an email to
support@digital-metaphors.com and we'll help you resolve them as soon as
    possible.

    Nico

All of my reports are in my database (End User Report solution). Yes I back
the GDB up daily (Firebird) is that sufficient...

Sorry for sounding like a panicking mare but I dont wont the problem of
installing 10 and then users having issues opening reports etc and my
developers not being able to compile code etc..arghhhhh...im panicking again
    ;-)

    Cheers

    Hi Mark,

I would suggest installing RB 10.02 on your machine only and giving it a
quick test before deploying or giving it to your other developers. This way
you can catch any major issues before you get in too deep.
