TeeChart Problems

edited May 2006 in General
Hi,

I have a problem with ReportBuilder 10.03 and TeeChart 7.07 for Delphi2006.

When a project contains ReportBuilders TeeChart Support, Delphi2006 treats
the TeeChart on the Form as standard component.
When I doubleclick on the chart, it does not start the TeeChart Editor as
usual, but creates an eventhandler.
A series is shown as a small sqare on the form, which is not editable.
Clicking once on the series shows it in the objectinspector, doubleclicking
creates an eventhandler.

I finally found the there is an reproducable way to turn the problem off and
on.
When I go to project options - packages and deactivate ReportBuilder
TeeChart7 components by removing the checkmark, the problem is gone.

When I first load a project with disabled ReportBilder TeeChart components,
Delphi2006 remembers something and subsequently works not matter if TeeChart
support is on or off.
I am currently working by first open and close a dummy project with disabled
ReportBuilder TeeChart support before I load the real project.

But I have a bad feeling working in this way. What if some minor change in
ReportBuilder or TeeChart changes this behaviour ?
It might stop my work immediately.

I have added a small demoproject that shows the problem.
The problem occurs immediately, the projects must even be compiled.

    Hi Gerhard,

Thanks for the information. This is still an open issue with TeeChart 7.07,
ReportBuilder 10.03, and Delphi 2006. We are currently in contact with
Steema about this issue. The fact that it is only present for Delphi 2006
leads us to believe that it is a Delphi issue. It seems that when the
RB/TeeChart package is loaded, some parts of the main TeeChart packages are
unloaded behind the scenes. We will continue to work with Steema to find a
solution and keep you updated on any progress we make. Thanks for your
patience and sorry about the inconvenience.
