Limit the text in a fixed width field

Hi

I have a field on a report which is fixed width. The text going into it
maybe too long for it. Is there anything in report builder i can use to
indicate this by puttng a continuation marker at the end of the string where
the field ends


e.g.
text to be used - The description is too long for this field

0054 : The Description is too lo...
