skip displaying a detail line

I have detail band with two lines - the first line contains several fields
while the second line contains a single description field. What I want to do
is in certain cases, to not have to display the description line but also
not have a blank gap if I simply set tis text to empty or make it invisible.
In such cases I want the detail band to only have a single line. I suppose
I could use a subreport but that's overkill for a single line is it not?

Hi Paul,

Try placing the description field inside a stretchable region and toggle its
visibility. If your detail band's print height is set to phDynamic, it
should snap to the smaller size if the region is not visible.
