Using Crosstab Help

edited October 2006 in General
I have a single table that has 3 columns: Name, Year, Result. What I need
to create is a report that shows the Name only once in a single row with
multiple columns of Year displaying the Result in each cell. I created a
crosstab report and it does exactly what I want except for one thing. It
reproduces itself over and over again for 59 pages. The resulting report
would show only 13 names (rows) and 9 years (columns) of results.

Is a crosstab report the correct one to use? If so, what am I missing? If
not, what should I try instead?

Thanks,
Jeff Kreider

    Hi Jeff,

Try disconnecting the dataset from the report or moving the crosstab out of
the detail band. If the crosstab for instance is inside the detail band, it
will be repeated for each record in the dataset that the report is connected
to. Use the Report | Data main menu option to disconnect the report.
