Retrieving template from database

I am using the ReportExplorer component and storing my reports in a SQL
database. I would like to retrieve the report template in a human-readable
ascii format from the database. I have attempted to retrieve the template
from the database as a byte array and convert that to ascii, but that does
not give me the result I desire. I would like a result that is
human-readable ascii that looks just like the .rtm file that are produced by
saving a report to a file using the ftASCII option.

Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and if so, how I might go about
achieving it.
