How to print text in gray on B/W printer?

Hi,

This was an issue that would be resolved for the futur release of
ReportBuilder (For furrther details see 'How to print text in gray on B/W
printer?' dated december 7 2006.)

I quote
'After some further research we found that over the years, the printer
drivers have been getting more advanced and capable of handling shades of
grey with black and white only printers. The code you mention below has
been in ReportBuilder for quite some time as I believe we had issues with
B&W printers in the past. Try commenting out this code for the time being
so that the FCanGrayScale property is always true. We will update this
class for the next release of ReportBuilder.'

It still ain't fixed in 10.05.

Hi Filip,

Thank you for pointing this out and I sincerely apologize that this fix was
not added for the next release. There is a patch available for RB 10.06
that will fix the issue in your case. (It is the same fix I mentioned in my
last post on this thread). The CanGrayScale property was added so that
colored text printed to a black and white only printer such as an old dot
matrix printer would definitely show up. It seems that most modern black
and white printers now have the capability to give the illusion of a gray
color by printing black and white dots which is not detectable in the
Windows API. The fix ensures that the CanGrayScale property is always True.

Hi Nico,

We did not receive notification regarding 10.06 yet, maybe better wait till
we get the notification? Or can we apply this patch on 10.05?
