Barcodes exported to PDF are not recognized by barcodereader
Reproduce:
New project,
New Report,
Set AllowPrintToFile to True,
Open designer,
Add new tppBarcode control somewhere on report,
Set property BarcodeType to bcCode128,
Set property Data to 263963,
Preview,
Print to printer directly,
Print to file (PDF),
Compare: output is different, barcodereader scans printed barcode, PDF
barcode will not be recognized by scanner, you can notice that there is a
missing line (bar) in the middle of the barcode on the PDF outprint. Tried
also with Code39, same problem.
Win XP, D2007 Ent or D7 Ent, RB10.07, several types of printers/acrobat
readers/barcode readers
thx

Currently the built-in PDF device included with ReportBuilder converts
advanced drawcommands such as barcodes and richtexts to bitmaps before
exporting them to the PDF file. During this process, some fidelity can be
lost resulting in poor quality output. This is something we are researching
to improve for a later release of ReportBuilder.
As an alternative, you might try using the third party export utility
Gnostice. I believe Gnostice utilizes vector graphics and metafile images
to keep the accuracy of such drawcommands.
