building report with 100 pages takes several hours
Hi,
i have a report generated at night both in a productiv environment and in a test environment . The problem is that it is very very long to be created. The end result is a pdf of about 450kb. The report has about 100 pages. and it takes in the productiv environment about 3 minutes per page which is already very time expensive , and in the test environment it takes about 40 minutes per page !!! it is really amazing. i can t figure out what is the reason of this. Any idea ? Even when i start the report life, the time for one page construction is to count in several minutes. i started the report in the test life for 8 minutes and no single page is created ....
Thanks for any suggestion !

We do not have any known issue with slow report generation. The problem is likely with data access.
As a test, try creating a subset of your data inside in-memory datasets and re-run your report. If this allows the report to generate quicker, you will want to focus on DB connection, dataset execution, and possibly indexing.
If data access is not the issue, it could be that something is taking your cpu while generating. To test this, try generating on a different machine.
