Saving templates and unicode?

edited January 2010 in General
Hi,

D2010, RB 11.07, XP Pro

Since installing version 11.07 I find that my custom template handling is
completely broken. Is this due to it now being saved in unicode rather than
'plain' text?

Could you provide some information (formats, etc) and examples on how it
should be done now please?

I previously had a 200 character record containing short strings which was
loaded/saved in the template and the offset adjusted accordingly. Attempts
to load existing templates are OK on first use (prior to first unicode
conversion I guess).

However, subsequent saving/loading no longer works and produces corrupt
template warnings and mixed content when saved to file as .rtm

Help!

Regards, Paul.

Just in case I'd done something silly in my code, I tried the example on RB
    Wiki:

"How To...Store Information With My Report Template".

Unfortunately, under 11.07, that doesn't seem to work either. I think if you
can fix that example I will be able to apply the same changes to what I
    currently have.

    Regards, Paul.

What happens if you comment out the new bits added to
TppTemplate.WriteToStream in ppTmplat, i.e. comment out the bits in the
    {$IFDEF Unicode} section?

Note you'll need to add the \RAD Studio\7.0\RBuilder\Source folder to
your project search path to get it to compile, but this worked for a
    similar sounding issue I noticed.

Agreed. I've reported this (and another issue with the archive reader)
to support, so I'll see what they say as I don't know what other
implications of my fixes might be. They usually reply pretty quickly
but they won't be in work just yet of course...

I emailed each of you a patch. Give it a try and let me know.

    Hi,
I download build 11.07 right now. Is that patch included or I need to
    request for it?

    Thanks

If you have the build 2, it's included.
