Quality of images on print

Hi all,


I placed a static image with 2600x1200 pixels (TppImage) onto a report and set the properties to scaled and keep aspect ratio. When I print this report (to PDF via Adobe PDF printer) this image is shown in a very low quality. It seems that the image will be rendered with screen resolution and after that printed out to the printer canvas.

What can I do to keep the quality of image I provided?

Hi Michael,

Which version of ReportBuilder and Delphi are you using?

1. Be sure the DirectDraw property is set to True before printing the
image.

2. There may be some options associated with images for the PDF printer
driver. The built-in PDF device includes a "Scale Images" property that can
alter the image quality in certain cases.

Hello Nico,

thank you for your reply! I am currently using RB Professional Version 11.03.
I just tested the DirectDraw property, but there were no improvement.
I get the same result when I print to another printer instead. I used PDF to checkot the printing quality - the preview can be zoomed.

testing with that. Contact info@digital-metaphors.com for upgrade
instructions.

2. When you preview the report inside ReportBuilder, does the image have
poor quality?

3. If you export the report to PDF using the built-in PDF device
(ScaleImages set to False), does the image have poor quality?
