Section or Child subreport

Hi,

I have a problem where I need to create a report that has x records and
y records group by date.

date : 12/05/2008

x1
x2
x3
subtotal
y1
y2
subtotal
grand total

Which subreport type should I use? How can I generate a report such as this?
